This year comm:unications celebrates an important milestone: 20 years of membership in the renowned PR network PROI (Public Relations Organisation International). Agency founder Sabine Pöhacker explains the added value of this exclusive and high-quality partnership – for clients, agency staff and the agency itself.

Founded in Europe in the early 1970s, PROI now has 7,000 employees and 90 partner agencies on five continents. The size of the agencies varies from 10 to 1000 employees, but there is a common DNA: all PROI agencies are innovative, dynamic and exclusively owner-managed.

PROI combines global expertise with local experience.

There is hardly a multinational company that does not work with at least one PROI agency. The added value is clearly in the executive support, the holistic view and the human-centred value orientation. PROI agencies evaluate clients according to ethical criteria and are among the top employers.

Twice a year, agency heads and PR seniors meet in Europe or overseas to share the latest trends and strategies. Local teams also benefit from what is now the world’s fourth largest PR network. Regular webinars offer best practice and international dialogue at eye level. The creative competitions among young PR talents are also highly attractive: in 2022, two PR juniors from comm:unications made it onto the podium and were able to attend a PROI meeting in Egypt – including a visit to the pyramids.
