36°C – and it’s staying that way!

While for many industries summer means a kind of lull, at comm:unications there is no sign of the proverbial “summer slump” – on the contrary: we are currently preparing PR for two major trade fairs, as well as media training, jury participation and lots of press releases. And with a constant stream of new clients and topics, one thing is for sure: we never get bored.

New address & “PRetty Moments”

comm:unications – Consulting & Services has moved. To celebrate the move, the agency hosted “PRetty Moments” in mid-June at its new premises near Vienna’s Schottentor. The palace built by Heinrich Ferstel at Wasagasse 6 is unique and makes working at our agency even more enjoyable. Around 50 clients, partners and friends enjoyed an unforgettable evening with cocktails and live music. By the way: You can also find the PRetty Moments on Instagram!

New clients for comm:unications

For the EU campaign #EndGenderStereotypes, comm:unications is using PR & social media to dispel prejudices in the long term; in addition, an awareness campaign is being carried out for the European Union Intellectual Property Office to draw attention to counterfeit products and their impact on the economy. The Austrian Swimming Pool Association, ÖVS, and IAAPA Expo Europe 2023, Europe’s largest trade fair for the leisure industry, which takes place in Vienna from 26 to 28 September, are also relying on the high-profile PR agency with immediate effect. Last but not least, the East-West Music Festival and the art project by Wolf Werdigier and Julian Schutting will be supported with PR and media work.

New consultant at comm:unications

Sarah Krasser joined the comm:unications team as a consultant in June. The WU graduate has extensive experience in project management and management consulting with a focus on digital transformation, change management and communication. With her expertise and drive, she is a perfect addition to the comm:unications team. Ronja Füreder also joined us as an intern in June.

Social Media: Trends & Hypes

According to the Moving Image Study 2023, WhatsApp, Facebook, Facebook Messenger and Instagram are the most used social media in the country. WhatsApp is by far the most used messenger service. TikTok is currently in fifth place, but is much more popular among younger people.

It remains to be seen whether Instagram’s Threads app, which launched in 100 countries in early July and is already the fastest-growing app in history, will create a buzz in Europe. The app, which is being positioned as a rival to Twitter, is not (yet) available in Europe.

“Cinema in the head”

Agency manager Sabine Pöhacker dedicates the latest blog post to metaphors in PR, arguing that this rhetorical stylistic device is all too often neglected as part of storytelling. She argues that those who use language to create images in the mind will succeed in anchoring their messages in the minds of their target groups. This is also supported by neuroscience: We perceive linguistic images as cognitive concepts that can evoke similar impressions to lived experiences. Click here to read the blog post.

Another summer tip for classical music lovers: our team supports Gernot Winischhofer’s “East-West Music Festival”. The programme promises cultural enjoyment at the highest level.
